South Korean company Samsung has managed to regain its leadership in the global smartphone market. It has been reported Business Korea.
Before that, for several months in a row the market was dominated by Apple, but the new Galaxy S23 smartphones helped Samsung take the first place in February. Now Samsung has 21.1% of the market, and Apple – 20.2%. Third, fourth and fifth places were Xiaomi (11.5%), Oppo (8.9%) and Vivo (8.2%).
In February 2023, a total of 89.6 million smartphones were sold worldwide; this figure is 10% less than in January and 15% less than the same period last year.
The Galaxy S23 series was first unveiled to the public at the Galaxy Unpacked presentation on February 1, 2023, and was released on February 17. It includes three devices – Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung Galaxy S23 + and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
