Apple tracks employee attendance with key cards to ensure employees come to the office at least three times a week. In this respect stated journalist Zoe Schiffer on her Twitter page.
According to Schiffer, employees receive warnings if they break the rules. In some cases, non-compliance can lead to layoffs, but as the journalist noted, this does not appear to be Apple’s corporate policy.
Bloomberg previously wrote about changes Apple made to cut costs. Subsequently, it was noted that the company’s work offices will be more strict in their approach to visiting their employees.
Like most companies, Apple has switched to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company changed the requirements regularly, but almost a year ago Apple switched to a hybrid mode of operation. The plan began when Apple required one office visit per week and gradually increased the number of office working days to two days a week. As of September 2022, it has been decided that employees will be in the office at least three days a week.
