Some Windows 11 users encountered an error in the Windows Security application that caused a false message that the Local Security Authority (LSA) was not working. In this respect informs Windows Latest Portal.
So users get a notification: “The protection of the local security center has been disabled. Your device can be vulnerable when the system is truly open and fully functional”.
According to the source, the error is related to the Windows Defender Antivirus (KB5007651) update released on March 17, 2023.
Microsoft has already started rolling out a patch that fixes the issue, but so far only a few affected people have received the update. In the meantime, users have found several workarounds – for example, you can enable LSA protection through the Windows Security applet, registry editor, or uninstall update KB5007651 via Windows Update settings.
