Meta company (known as an extremist and banned in Russia) is preparing to lay off thousands of its employees this week. It has been reported Bloomberg citing sources familiar with the situation.
This is the second wave of layoffs from the company in four months. In November, Meta laid off approximately 11,000 employees in an effort to optimize costs.
Sources say a new phase of outage should begin this week. The company’s senior management has already sent letters to senior executives and vice presidents asking them to submit lists of employees you can “reject”. Such rush is reportedly due, among other things, to Meta head Mark Zuckerberg being told to go on parental leave.
Bloomberg argues that while the November cuts came as a surprise to many, a new wave of layoffs is expected, especially given the fact that Zuckerberg has called 2023 a “productivity year” for Meta.
