Just four months after Xiaomi became the first brand to break the 200W threshold, it introduced the updated Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition smartphone with 300W fast charging. In this respect informs GSMArena portal.
According to the company, the smartphone can charge from 0% to 100% in less than five minutes and takes just 2 minutes and 11 seconds to reach 50%. At the same time, the smartphone was equipped with a 4100 mAh battery and its charging took place in the laboratory.
It is noteworthy that the smartphone did not reach the declared 300 watts – the maximum power at which the battery was charged did not exceed 290 watts.
It is not reported whether such a smartphone will go on sale and how quickly the battery of the device will deteriorate with such charging power.
The “record-breaking”, currently available for free sale, is the Realme GT Neo5 with 240W charging – its global version under the name GT3 will be presented on February 28. It is claimed that a smartphone with a 4600 mAh battery from Realme can be charged from 0% to 100% in just 10 minutes.
