In the first week since its release, Atomic Heart, the Russian first-person shooter in a Soviet setting, has become the biggest new project for Xbox in 2023, surpassing the Hogwarts Legacy game about the school of magic and wizardry. Portal reports Real Achievements.

“Atomic Heart was made available on Xbox Game Pass last week. This is the most played new game on Xbox in 2023, according to week one player data.

Studio Mundfish’s shooter has outstripped not only Hogwarts Legacy but other Game Pass projects like GoldenEye 007 and Hi-Fi Rush.

It was recorded that around 120,000 players took part in the first seven days of Atomic Heart. That’s about 20,000 more than the Hogwarts game. Around 70,000 people played GoldenEye and Hi-Fi Rush in the same period.

The novelty of Russian developers could not overcome the success of High on Life, which in 2022 attracted 160 thousand players.

But Atomic Heart has proven to be more popular on Game Pass than many other major releases from last year. The shooter in the alternate USSR surpassed projects like PowerWash Simulator, Deathloop, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Tunic, and Scorn in terms of player count.

Former blogger Dan Allen posted a video With actors portraying the main characters of Atomic Heart.
