“The latest test versions of the Reality Pro headset do not require an iPhone for setup or use. This is a marked change over previous Apple devices such as the Apple Watch, which originally required an iPhone to set up.
Instead, it is stated that the Reality Pro headset will support configuration independently of the iPhone, and then upload user data directly through the iCloud cloud service.
“However, you will have the opportunity to transfer data directly from the iPhone or iPad to the headset, just as you do during the installation process of other Apple devices,” added an insider Gürman.
According to the journalist, unlike other AR and VR headsets on the market, the Reality Pro will not have a remote; instead, the device will operate relying on the user’s eyes and hands. For example, users will be able to write from the air, but for now “this feature is in test mode.”
