The test version of Microsoft Edge started adding a banner on the official Chrome website urging the user not to switch from Google to the browser. Portal reports Neowin.

We are talking about the Canary branch of the desktop version of Microsoft Edge. If a user chooses to download the Google Chrome browser, a large banner will appear at the top of Edge that reads “Edge runs on the same technology as Chrome, but with added reliability from Microsoft.”

In this way, Microsoft is trying to “protect” users from using browsers other than their own. As Neowin points out, Google Chrome also recommends its browser, but only on its official website and does not place ads on other people’s resources. It is possible that such an aggressive promotion is only available in the test version and may not reach the release for a wide audience.

Formerly socialbites.ca we talked about itDue to a malfunction in the Microsoft Outlook service, spam flowed into users’ mailboxes.
