Microsoft allowed Windows 11 to run on Apple computers with M1 and M2 chips through virtualization via Parallels Desktop. In this respect informs communication portal.

It is noted that users will have access to special editions of Windows 11 Pro and Enterprise, designed for computers with chips in the ARM architecture. Previously, Microsoft had licensed such systems directly to laptop manufacturers with ARM chips.

However, running Windows 11 for ARM through a virtual machine has some limitations. For example, the system is not compatible with applications using DirectX 12 or OpenGL 3.3 technologies. Also, Windows 11 on MacBooks with M1 and M2 chips cannot run Android apps, thanks to the built-in Windows Subsystem for Android and Windows Subsystem for Linux.

You can run Windows 11 virtualization on Apple computers using the Parallels Desktop 18 utility.
