FT: Every second iPhone case from India turned out to be defective

Apple struggles to increase production in India informs financial times. It turns out that one of every second iPhone case produced in this country is defective.

It was noted that only 50% of iPhone cases at the Indian factory operated by Tata Group meet the requirements to be sent to Foxconn for further assembly.

It is also stated that the process of expansion of production in India is not that fast, partly due to logistics, tariffs and infrastructure problems. At the same time, the company plans to move half of iPhone production to India by 2027.

It is assumed that the launch of the iPhone 15 in India at the same time as China may be in jeopardy, unless Apple resolves issues with the quality of cases made in India and adjusts supply.
