As part of the “derussification”, authorities in the city of Izyum in the Kharkiv region renamed a street named after Russian musician Vladimir Vysotsky to a street named after Apple founder Steve Jobs. About informs TASS.

Information about the change of place names was posted on the Facebook page of Vladimir Matsokin, Deputy Mayor of Izyum (the owner of Meta was considered extremist and banned in Russia). In total, city officials renamed 19 streets.

Basically, the objects received new names in honor of the “eminent Ukrainians”. In honor of Jobs, one of the streets of the Izyum authorities was named to “decorate the city,” as Matsokin put it.

In addition to Vladimir Vysotsky Street, the streets lost their former name [Александра] Alyabiev, Alexander Ostrovsky, [Константина] Rokossovsky, [Ивана] Panfilov, Viktor Tsoi and more.
