Kommersant: Apple refuses to adapt iPhone to Russian networks after leaving the country

Apple refused to support VoLTE and VoWiFi functions on the iPhone 14 series after leaving the Russian market. It was reported by the newspaper “Kommersant“.

We are talking about technologies for voice transmission over the LTE network and calls over Wi-Fi, which improves the quality of communication and is actively used by Russian subscribers. According to some iPhone users from the Russian Federation, VoLTE and VoWiFi on smartphones of line 14 either work incorrectly or not at all.

The mobile operators Kommersant spoke to confirmed the problems in the functioning of these functions. It seems that after Apple left Russia in March 2022, the carriers could not agree with the company about the compatibility of the new iPhones with their networks. Meanwhile, industry experts don’t believe that not supporting these features in new iPhones will negatively impact demand, as Apple’s audience loyalty is still so high.
