Russian media reported that video games help many residents of the Russian Federation to cope with stress. This is evident from the results of a survey on VK Play. It was attended by 1200 people over the age of 18.

It was found that 55% of respondents deal with stress using video games. Mostly Russians, struggling with stress, play strategies (27%), puzzles (21%) and simulators (20%). Action games, role-playing games and sports simulators also accounted for 10% each.
37% of respondents said games help to divert attention from problems, nearly 25% said they enjoy competing with others, and 16% noted that video games help develop the imagination. Finally, 10% said they make new friends through games.
The respondents also talked about the benefits of the game. So 47% believe games can improve critical thinking, 43% say they improve coordination and motor skills, and 30% say they improve leadership skills.
Finally, 23% of those surveyed said it has now become easier for them to start conversations with unknown players.
