The traffic police announced the work of a system for searching for stolen cars and preventing traffic violations (SDA), said the deputy chief of the traffic police, Lenar Gabdurakhmanov. He is quoted by TASS. “Web” throughout Russia, except in new regions.
The program does not yet work in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), as well as in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. The last topic was taken into use on September 30.
It was announced in April 2021 that Russia launched the web system for appealing fines and car searches.
The innovation allows traffic police inspectors to receive information from cameras, not just when determining traffic violations. Now, police officers across Russia can track specific license plates, making it easy to track down stolen cars, for example.

“Web” allows you to track cars, record and save the location, the movement of cars near the crime scene, which greatly facilitates the search for criminals. The system can detect duplicate cars and help solve crimes. She sees the positioning of the vehicle as well as the make, model and route of movement, also in real time.
The moment the car, which is in the search base, crosses the boundary of the area, notifications are sent to all nearest stations, whether they are in the same area or not. “Web” can even read hidden numbers.
