Lonely Russian developer Monkey-With-a-Bomb is working on Paradox of Hope VR, a story-driven VR shooter with elements of survival and horror, clearly inspired by the Metro series. He recently posted a trailer with a September 15 release date. On this day, the project will appear in Steam Early Access.
In the story campaign, players take on the role of a stalker exploring the subway of post-apocalyptic Moscow. Enemies live in underground tunnels, so you have to act stealthily or fight your way through. To survive, you must look for new weapons, customize them and upgrade your equipment. You should also check stocks of filters and first aid kits.
The game will also have a replayable mode with “Raids” for generating procedural levels. The goal is to collect valuable loot and find a way out of the location. With the proceeds you can buy cooler gear and go back to the raid.
Early access will take the shooter about a year. During this time, the author plans to fully complete the story campaign, introduce new content for the “Raids” mode, and add co-op for two. In the beginning, by the way, only the first chapter of the story campaign is available in the game.
The project will be paid – the price has not yet been announced. According to the developer, the cost of the game will increase slightly with each major update. To run, you need a VR headset and a Windows 10 (64-bit) computer, 8 GB of RAM, and a GTX 1060 or RX 580 graphics card with 6 GB of VRAM.
