“Gansterland” continues this tradition – we see how problems arise in the world of organized crime and what methods they spack.

Guy Richie, just like Quentin Tarantino, combines serious stories about bandits with comic elements. This is a distinctive feature of films such as “cards, money, two tribes” (lock, stock and two smoking barrels), “Big Kush” (Snatch), Rock-Roborer (Rockroll) and “Men” (the gentlemen). Admittedly, if you are tailored to a different similar project, then the ‘Gangsterland’ can disappoint you.
Jes Butterworth, known for the Black Mass (Black Mass) and Ronan Bennett, who wrote the script for Johnny D. (Public Enemies). Both authors are a serious approach, and this is felt in their first joint work.

He eliminates conflicts between Mafia families, and both peaceful negotiations and gross strength are used. And when it is clear that the collision is inevitable, Harry calculates the actions of the enemy and touches the first.
It was he who had to eliminate the consequences of the behavior of the young son of the head of the family, who succeeded in a random person in one night with a knife and “hanging around” with a representative of the enemy organization, who disappeared in the morning. And while the hero solves some problems, others, no less serious. Over time, the plot is complicated, new storylines appear and the weapons of Chekhov are charged, which have to shoot in the next series.

It is worth noting that Guy Richie was already filming militants and military dramas without a hint of humor. Clear examples are “translator” (The Covenant of Guy Ritchie) and “Wrath of Man). But when it comes to the series, you can tighten the Untentief campaign, so that the viewer will lose interest in what happens. Fortunately this does not happen in Gangstereland. In those episodes that come out at the time of writing these lines.
Moreover, Tom Hardy has a unique charisma that can even stretch a failed film. Here the actor created the image of a confident gangster, who always acts clearly and competent. And the Pierce Brosnan, who played the role of the leader of the family, lacks emotionality. The secondary characters seem too simple. Fortunately, the emphasis is not on them, but on the history of the confrontation of two criminal organizations. And just with her everything is in perfect order.
Is it worth seeing “gangsterland”
The series is exclusively designed for lovers of complex criminal dramas. He offers nothing radical news in the context of the genre, but what happens is still fascinating. Admittedly, if, after the mention of Guy Richie, you waited for brand jokes or light hooliganism in the spirit of what was shown to us in the film “Fortune Operation” (Operation Fortune: Russ de Guerre), then “Gangstereland” can be safely skipped. The same applies to those who are indifferent to films about the world of crime. This series will certainly not change your attitude towards them.
