Larian Studios announced the release of the last, eighth patch for Baldur’s Gate 3. The update became one of the largest in the history of RPG, and on this occasion the developers left a special message.
Well, friends,
That’s all. Our last major patch for Baldur’s Gate 3.
You helped make BG3 much more successful than we could ever have dreamed, and your passion could inspire us to rule and improve the game until the end of time. But then we could never make anything new.
With the exception of small bug corrections, Patch 8 is the last update of the content. This means that we will not introduce an extra plot, change the lines of characters, companions or heroes with a background.
We told our stories as we thought it was necessary, tried to make them exciting and important – and we continue to learn to manage our own chaos to create even more chaos in the future. From the very beginning, your opinion was incredibly important to us – and it will continue to influence our future projects. As Sven said on a retrospective panel on Baldur’s Gate 3 on Pax West in August last year: it’s time to return to their cave, hanging armor on the wall and concentrating on the next project.
