At the presentation of gamescom 2022, Funcom studio presented an open-world multiplayer survival game Dune: Awaken. A cinematic trailer was shown as part of the presentation.
The new project is based on both Frank Herbert’s novels and Denis Villeneuve’s film adaptation. The game takes place on the planet Arrakis. In Dune: Awakening, players must explore the unknown areas of the sand planet, find them, collect herbs, escape sandworms and travel the world.
You must also strengthen your influence in Landsraad, using intrigue, diplomacy and other methods of behind-the-scenes combat.
Dune: Awakening already has a Steam page. The project will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Release date not reported.
