Journalists clarified that the testing department was particularly affected; about 12 people were fired.
This isn’t the first time Cloud Imperium Games has cut staff; earlier this year, the studio terminated contracts with hundreds of employees. They were also forced to sign a non-disclosure document to prevent news of the cuts from going viral.
Meanwhile, Star Citizen’s budget has reached a staggering $750 million, making it the most expensive game in history. And judging by the official fundraising page on the website, the numbers continue to grow despite the lack of a clear release date.
