A new version (1.4) of the modification STALKER: Shadow Of Chernobyl Update has been released on PC, which is a kind of remaster of the first “Stalker” of 2007.

Shadow of Chernobyl Update 1.4 offers:
- Completely redesigned locations (all vegetation replaced, boundaries expanded, home interiors and more improved);
- Improved graphics (better lighting, glare, color scheme, volumetric light, fog, water and more);
- Reworked AI (NPCs learned to change weapons and armor, heal, collect items, search bodies and boxes, use a knife, and more);
- New menus and loading screen, as well as a redesigned HUD.
The author of the mod also added effects for the injured protagonist and eject warnings, replaced the sounds of footsteps, changed the NPC respawn parameters and reconfigured the weapon properties.
Shadow Of Chernobyl Update 1.4 is a standalone mod that does not require the original game. Links to download the project and a full list of changes can be found here.
It’s worth noting that Shadow Of Chernobyl Update 1.4 is an interim version of the remaster. Version 2.0 has been in development for quite some time, which will transform Stalker even more.
⚠️ Be careful: you can go to jail if you buy STALKER 2
