7 Days to Die is a multiplayer survival game with horror elements. The game was in early access for over 10 years and was released only in July 2024. Judging by the reviews on Steam, the project turned out great. But it can be made even better with custom modifications. We have collected the most interesting of them in this article.
After version 1.0 was released, many old mods started not working properly anymore. Therefore, we included in the selection only those modifications that were updated after the release of 7 Days to Die.

SMX from Sirillion – new interface
This is the most popular mod for 7 Days to Die. It offers a complete overhaul of the interface. The task of the author of the modification was to bring the game controls closer to classic horror games. Judging by the number of downloads, the goal has been achieved.
Bdub’s Vehicles (1.0) – Extra Transport
This mod adds 26 new cars and motorcycles to the game. Among them are the classic “Loaf”, a high-speed bike, a golf cart and even an armored personnel carrier. Transport differs in speed, degree of protection, number of seats and trunk size.
Firearms Expansion 5 for 1.0 – New Weapon Types
Adds 28 new types of weapons to the game, including a minigun, a flamethrower, several types of machine guns and many pistols. Many types of firearms can be mounted on a machine. ELITE zombie – new types of zombies
A modification that adds 27 new types of elite zombies to the game. Among them are both fast and agile living dead and huge giants. The author of the mod carefully integrated the monsters into the world of the game, so that they appeared gradually as the character developed.
Beyond Storage 1.0 – Expanded crafting system in 7 Days to Die
A modification that allows you to craft items using the nearest storage, repair them, and improve them. One of the mod options allows you to carry resources far away from their location. As a result, you will craft faster, which can save your life at some point.
V1.0 EpicSpire’s Larger Backpack 91slot – Increased Inventory
This mod increases your inventory to 91 cells. The change is not significant, but it does make the game a lot easier, as you can carry more items and return to storage less often.

FNS’s Loot All the Things – extra loot
This change expands the number of items that can be searched for loot. Once installed, you can examine the contents of body bags, couches, wine barrels, computers, and cardboard boxes.
Perks Plus – additional benefits for later stages of the game
After installing this mod, 7 Days to Die will have 45 unique perks. They are designed for advanced players, as only those who upgraded the base parameter to level 10 can unlock new skills.
Upgrade base ammo – improve the base ammo
In the later stages of the game, you will use bullets with increased damage more often. And in the boxes you will still find only standard cartridges. With this modification, you can convert basic ammo into advanced ammo at a low cost.
No Crosshair – A Game Without Sight
This tweak is for those who value full immersion. It removes the crosshairs for all types of weapons. Of course, aiming becomes more difficult. We recommend that you first master the basic mechanics of 7 Days to Die, and only then experiment with the interface in a similar way.
No GPS – no cursor on the mini map
Another mod that makes the game hardcore by changing the interface. It removes the player name and cursor from the minimap. It will be harder to navigate, so it is advisable to study the open world of 7 Days to Die first.
Dewtas Disabled Demolition Zombie Explosion – zombies with explosives cannot harm you
Exploding zombies have been a serious problem for some players. This mod was developed specifically for them. It prevents the dead from exploding, making combat much easier.
Dewtas Head Shots Actually Matter: Headshots do more damage
If you prefer to shoot heads, you’ll probably like this tweak. It increases the effectiveness of headshots, but reduces the damage you do when hitting an enemy’s body.
V1.0 500 Max Level Progression – Increased the max level to 500
In the original game, your character’s development ceiling is limited to level 300. After installing this mod, it will increase to 500. You can increase the hero’s parameters and unlock new perks.
Undertaker – thick fog
This change changes the appearance of the fog. You can make it thick or almost invisible. Our favorite is the Silent Hill mode, which makes 7 Days of Die look particularly atmospheric.
DoubleBlundy’s Bounty Quests – treasure hunts for bounty hunters
A set of twelve quests to find and destroy hordes of the living dead or particularly powerful single zombies. Each task comes with a generous reward.
Jakmeister999’s Mining Fury (V1.0) – accelerated resource extraction
With the help of perks, you can increase the attack speed of melee weapons. However, this feature does not apply to tools for extracting resources. After installing the Mining Fury mod by Jakmeister999, the Miner 69er skill will appear in the game, which allows you to mine various materials faster.
1.0 Danzo Screamer Alert – sound warning for approaching zombies
After installing this modification, you will receive a notification when zombies approach. Before the living dead approach, a characteristic sound signal will be heard.
