The story surrounding Sweet Baby Inc prompted many gamers to carefully investigate who certain game studios work with. This time the makers of the remake Silent Hill 2 was suspected of hiring consultants from Hit Detection.
Some players paid attention to this company after showing off the gameplay of Bloober Teams’ remake of Silent Hill 2. Many did not like the changed appearance of Angelina and Maria, and they started looking for traces of the intervention of curators like Sweet Baby Inc. As a result, the path led them to the website of the consultancy firm Hit Detection, which indicated on the main page the partnership with Bloober Teams.

The following service advertised by the company was of particular concern to online users:
Assess sensitive issues: Our team evaluates risk factors for images of characters from underrepresented groups, themes, and potential community responses.
For many players in Steam discussions, this became a reason to refuse to pre-order the game:
“Another game of propaganda…” – Mackensen.
“Removed from my wish list” – Dofus.
“So that’s why Maria doesn’t look the way she should, now it’s clear,” says Gonsnakex.
Other players also pointed out that Hit Detection was mentioned in the credits Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Let us remind you that many gamers noticed that Tifa’s breasts were smaller in the game. The company was also mentioned in the development Alan Wake2 and God of War: Ragnarok.
At the time of writing, there is no clearer evidence that the changes to these games were dictated by Hit Detection. Note that the wording of the service with representation seems quite vague, and the company itself offers quite common services such as media training, financial risk assessment, alpha testing and competitive analysis.
Let us remind you that the Silent Hill 2 remake will be released on PS5 on October 8. You can watch the gameplay trailer here.
