On May 19, 2024, the third “Witcher” turned 9 years old. During this time, more than six thousand user modifications have been released for it. Thanks to them we were able to improve the graphics, change character outfits and add new types of weapons. However, users did not have the opportunity to release a global mod in the spirit of Enderal: The Shards of Order for Skyrim, a new game based on the original engine. The Witcher 3’s REDKit editor gives those making changes to Wild Hunt a similar opportunity.

How to download and install The Witcher 3 REDKit
The Witcher 3 REDKit editor is available completely free to all PC players. But to use it you need a licensed version of the third Witcher. You can’t download it on your console.
The installation algorithm is simple:
- Go to the tool’s Steam page and select the “Free” option to download it.
- Start the editor. You must fill in the cells with folder addresses. In the line “Game Directory” indicate the location where the third Witcher is installed, and in the “Depot Directory” – the folder where the temporary files will be located.
- Select “Generate” to start the installation of the tool.
- Once the installation is complete, click the “Continue” icon.
You can now develop mods for Wild Hunt.
Where is the folder with the installed game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
By default it is located in C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommon The Witcher 3.
If you installed the game in another folder and forgot its location, it will not be difficult to find it:
- Open your library on Steam and search for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
- Right-click on the game and select Properties.
- Go to “Installed Files” and click the “Browse” icon on the right.
- A folder will open containing the game. Remember the location.
