Hades 2 goes beyond the typical roguelike with its compelling story and diverse cast of characters. Here, each dialogue plays a key role and provides unique benefits to players, rather than simply serving as a means of communication. Nectar, in turn, is a gift that can be offered to the gods to increase their loyalty. In this guide, we’ll look at the most effective methods for collecting nectar in Hades 2.

Remark: It’s worth noting that Hades 2 is in early access and some mechanics may change in the future.
Where can you get nectar in Hades 2
There aren’t many places where you can get nectar. We can highlight the three most important: combat prizes, the fatal list and the unlucky merchant. Let’s look at them all in order.
Unhappy merchant

This character will not be available from the start of the game. To make it appear at the crossroads, you must first collect a certain amount of resources and create the spell ‘Summon Commodity Abundance’. Please note that the broker may not appear immediately, but after several runs.

After each completed race, one unit of nectar will appear on the merchant’s counter. All you have to do is purchase the item for a certain number of bones. This is the simplest method, but at the same time the slowest. If you need more nectar, you will have to resort to others.
Fatal list

The fatal list is a good way to spontaneously get a few units of nectar, especially if you didn’t even know about it. Of course, nectar is not a reward for all tasks. To unlock the list, create the spell “Intervention of Fate:” in Hecate’s Cauldron.
Rewards for battles
The main method of obtaining nectar in Hades 2 is through combat, but there are certain subtleties involved. Nectar acts as a combat trophy, implying the need to forego other types of rewards. You have to make choices between gifts, resources, increasing your maximum health, and so on. It’s important to realize that choosing locations with Nectar actually reduces your character’s combat skills for the current playthrough. Regular bias towards such locations will most likely lead to a premature end to the race.
As you develop your character, unlock new skills and improve stats, the process of obtaining nectar for winning battles becomes easier. But don’t worry about this: even after you beat all the bosses, the game expects you to return to the beginning, as this is part of the concept.
Charon
Another way to obtain nectar is to purchase it from the merchant Charon. Charon’s range of goods changes randomly and nectar is not always available there. So if you see it on sale, don’t hesitate to buy it. However, keep in mind that purchasing Nectar may force you to give up other items that may be more valuable to your current game.
Why give nectar?

Giving gifts to the gods in the form of nectar not only increases their loyalty, but also opens access to special souvenirs. These souvenirs, which can be worn before the start of each race, provide the player with various bonuses, from restoring mana to the ability to come back to life after death. The game contains 25 unique souvenirs, each related to a specific character.
Giving nectar not only strengthens your bond with the deity, but also delves deeper into the game’s plot, revealing new details about the characters and their history.
We hope this little guide will help you find more nectar in Hades 2. If you notice an inaccuracy or want to add something to the guide, please write about it in the comments.
