Recent major patch for the shooter Helldivers 2 brought many significant changes to the gameplay. In addition to firestorms, meteor showers and battle rebalancing, the developers have significantly improved the flamethrower.
Before the patch, many players preferred to avoid the flamethrower. It did little damage and could even explode in your hands. However, after a patch massively weakened the best weapon in the game, the railgun, players began looking for a new favorite. It unexpectedly became an updated flamethrower.
One Reddit user noted that with a 50% increase in damage, the flamethrower kills Chargers in seconds. Other players also noted that his power has increased significantly:

The Flamethrower 2.0 quickly became the best weapon in Helldivers 2 after the patch. It doesn’t require a backpack and you can easily charge it on the go. And experienced players even use a flamethrower to trap enemies and set bushes and grass on fire.
Changes for the better also affected other weapons. For example, the developers increased the Punisher’s ammunition to 60 rounds, improved the armor penetration of the laser rifle, and fixed an armor bug.
