Update 4.5 will be released on March 13, 2024 Genshin Impact, which will add a new banner to the game: “Prayer of the Chronicles”. It is temporary, so after a while it will disappear or be replaced by another. However, it has its own features that set it apart from standard gaming banners. We will tell you about it in our guide.
What are prayers for in Genshin Impact?
In Genshin Impact, prayers are a local gacha mechanic that allows you to unlock new characters and weapons. For this you need the local premium currency, which is called Source Stones. You can find it in the open world of the game, receive it as a reward or buy it for real money. This is the only way to fill your team with five-star heroes and equip them with the best swords, bows, spears or catalysts. We’ve talked more about how spins work in a separate guide.
Please note that prayers are not the only way to get new characters. Four-star heroes can join your team after completing certain missions. And some types of weapons can be collected from resources found in the game itself.
About the first prayer of the chronicles – Poems of the morning wind
The main difference between the new banner is the focus on a specific region. For example, after update 4.5 and until version 4.6 is released (from March 13 to April 23, 2024), the prayer “Poems of the Morning Wind” will be in effect. It features five-star heroes and heroines of Mondstadt. Among them are three event characters: Eolu, Albedo and Klee, as well as three standard characters: Mona, Diluc and Djinn. The last trio is also available in the standard banner.
Weapons include the Song of Broken Pines (Eola’s signature sword), as well as many five-star items for other characters – Hunting Path, Sky Atlas, Lighthouse of the Reed Sea, Falcon Sword, Sky Sword, Wolf’s Bane, Prayer to the Sacred Winds, Celestial Majesty, Celestial Axis and Sky Wing.
Note that the prayer of the chronicles is relevant for the entire duration of the update, and not half the duration like other banners.
How the Prayers of the Chronicles Work
- Before you start spinning, you must choose a course to a hero or weapon. In this case, you will receive it with a probability of 50%.
- If you’re setting a course for a character, only these will work out for you, but if you’re choosing a weapon, expect spears, swords, bows and catalysts.
- For every 10 prayers you receive a 4-star weapon or character, and for every 90 prayers you receive a 5-star item or hero. The game remembers how many spins you have made. For example, if you have said 50 prayers, there will be 40 spins left for a five-star weapon or character next time. This feature remains even after the current chronicle prayer expires and is transferred to the new one.
- If you do not receive a hero or item for which the course has been set, you gain 1 fate point. It gives a 100% guarantee of receiving the selected character or weapon during the next spins. After the banner expires, all Fate points are burned out.
To use the Prayer of Chronicles, you will need a special resource called Intertwined Fates. It can be obtained in several ways:
- Buy from the Paimon shop on the Source Stones;
- Trade at Paimon’s shop for Star Shine;
- Buy Stardust from Paimon’s shop;
- Receive the Pearl Anthem as a reward for reaching levels 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 of the Battle Pass;
- Reach level 6 of the Permafrost Tree.
