A free demo of a metroidvania with elements of a simplified roguelike was recently released on Steam Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse, published by Pocketpair, which achieved great fame thanks to this book Palworld. The developer of the project is Frontside 180 studio.
Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse is a 2D action game in the spirit of Hollow Knight. The main character is a girl with a magical hat who can copy the abilities of her enemies.
The game uses a random dungeon generation system. During the passage, gamers will explore various ruins, botanical gardens and libraries. In addition to combat, there are puzzles.
“Use the materials you collect from the dungeons to clear the rubble of destroyed villages, build new items, and grow crops in the fields. Produce food and drinks in the village to prepare for the next battle.”says the description.
Additionally, Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse offers both single-player mode and online co-op with support for up to four players. The game will be released in Early Access in the first quarter of 2024. You can download the demo here.
