Rockstar recently released the first trailer GTA 6. It showed the main characters and a colorful city inspired by the real Miami. However, we still don’t know much about the game itself. This guide has collected everything you may be interested in about GTA 6: release on PC, the presence of the Russian language, game characters, a preliminary map and the presence of cheat codes in the game.
Will GTA 6 be released on previous generation consoles?
Unfortunately, Grand Theft Auto 6 will not be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Rockstar Games has ended support for previous generation consoles and announced that the upcoming game will only release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This was obvious, as the previous generation consoles would not have enough power to support such a large-scale project. Just take a look at the game’s first trailer: The hardware will have to handle a wide range of textures and objects – from beaches full of non-player characters to busy highways.
Rockstar Games, a publisher of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., is proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X/S systems in 2025.
Will GTA 6 be released on PC?
At the time of writing this guide, Rockstar has not yet confirmed a PC release for GTA 6. Most likely, this will happen after the release of the console versions of the game. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, said in a press release that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released on PS5 and Xbox in 2025. There was no mention of older generation PCs or consoles.
The lack of mention of a PC version of the game may be confusing, but remember that a similar approach has been taken on the studio’s previous projects, such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Both games were first released on consoles and about two years later on PC.
Most likely, GTA 6’s release on PC will take place some time after its launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. We hope this can be done as soon as possible, as a large number of players are already eager to return to Vice City – a fictional version of Miami, USA.
As of today, this is all that is known about the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 on PC. As new information emerges, we will be sure to update the guide.
Will GTA 6 have Russian language?
At the moment there is no information about which languages will be present in GTA 6, except English – this is the basic language found in almost all major game projects. However, there are several points that indicate the presence of the Russian language in the game.
The first assumption: the presence of an official Russian translation of the first trailer on the Rockstar channel. Of course, this doesn’t prove anything, but later a game page appeared on the studio’s website, translated into 13 languages, including Russian.
This is not surprising, because the development of Grand Theft Auto 6 began long before the departure of game studios and the discontinuation of support for many games in the Russian Federation. Therefore, it is most likely inappropriate for the studio to leave the home community.
It is also worth considering that Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, continues to release games with Russian localization even after the departure of the main gaming companies from the domestic market.
At the same time, it is worth understanding that, most likely, there will be no Russian voice actors in the game – this is complicated by sanctions restrictions, where the development studio will simply not be able to work with domestic studios to fully localize the project. Additionally, two major previous Rockstar games – GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 – did not feature Russian voice actors at all, despite the lack of sanction restrictions.
GTA 6 – prequel or sequel?
Based on the preliminary leaks that confirmed a return to Vice City, it would be reasonable to assume that GTA 6 could be a prequel to one of the episodes. Finally, the action Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is set in the same 1980s city.
However, GTA 6 is not a prequel to any other Grand Theft Auto title. After all, judging from what we saw in the first trailer, the game literally takes place in the present. For this reason, this is probably the furthest we’ve ever seen in the GTA world timeline.
Despite this, it’s hard to say if any story characters or moments from the previous game will appear in GTA 6. The first trailer doesn’t suggest anything about that. However, we will definitely see some classic GTA brands in the game: Ammu-Nation, Sprunk Cola and Redwood.
It’s worth noting that most of the games in the series are fairly self-contained, and there are virtually no references to previous games (if any, they are very minor). We therefore recommend not to expect a serious continuation of the story Grand Theft Auto 5, Grand Theft Auto 4, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas or other parts of the series.
What kind of playable characters will there be in GTA 6?
For the first time in the franchise’s history, Rockstar introduced GTA fans to a female character who, together with her partner, will conquer the criminal world of Vice City. According to leaked information, their names will be Lucia and Jason.
Who is Lucia
Lucia is the main character and former prisoner with Latin American roots. In the trailer she comes across as a strong-willed gangster who pays no attention to danger.
In the first shot of the recently released GTA 6 trailer, we see Lucia in an orange prison uniform talking to a parole officer. It may seem as if she is not guilty of any criminal offenses at all. When asked why she ended up in prison, she answers that she was simply unlucky.
Lucia is not just a character, but a huge new addition to the GTA franchise. She is the first female protagonist since the original game, as well as the first Latin American protagonist. The girl’s name has already gone viral on social networks and among the huge group of GTA fans around the world.
Who is Jason
Jason is the male half of this criminal tandem and also Lucia’s lover. Judging from the trailer, we can assume that he is an experienced driver and is responsible for the girl’s safety while she commits reckless actions.
There’s not even any reliable information yet on whether Jason will become a playable character. But if the leaks are to be believed, players will take on the role of these two heroes. Although the exact circumstances of the duo’s origin are still unknown to us, we can confidently assume that they met on the streets of Vice City.
At this time, Rockstar is not releasing any details about the main characters. But 2025 is still a long way away and we recently saw the first trailer, so we’ll likely learn more details about Lucia and Jason in the near future. We’ll be sure to update the guide as more information becomes available.
Will Tommy, Trevor, CJ and other heroes appear in the game?
Based on what we saw in the first GTA 6 trailer, there’s nothing to indicate that Tommy Vercetti will make an appearance. Although he was the main character in Vice City, it seems that his time ruling crime in the region is over. It’s highly unlikely that Tommy Vercetti will appear in GTA 6, except perhaps in a small video or as a small reference – he could very well be a little Easter egg for fans of the franchise, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
At the end of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, we see Tommy and his henchman Ken finally establish themselves as the region’s top crime lords. After that, we didn’t see these heroes in any part of GTA.
Tommy Vercetti’s original voice actor, Ray Liotta, sadly passed away in 2022. If he didn’t have time to record voice lines for a cameo during his lifetime, Rockstar could choose to pay tribute as an Easter egg or as a reference to that character. So the most likely scenario is that even if we do get a Tommy reference, it will be a very small one.
Fans expect that many more characters will be introduced in addition to the two main characters of GTA 6. Some are even hoping for the return of characters from previous games in the GTA franchise, such as Trevor Phillips. As with Tommy Vercetti, we’re not sure if Trevor will be implemented as a playable or support character in GTA 6.
In one of the final cutscenes of GTA 5, we see him alive. In 2015, he also appeared in GTA Online as part of the A Funding Heist series. However, this hope is currently just a figment of the imagination of players around the world. In the GTA 6 trailer we did not see Trevor, Michael or Franklin – the main characters of GTA 5. But we also know that Rockstar likes surprises.

The new GTA 6 trailer shows vivid and memorable scenes typical of Florida. We see the neon lights of Vice City, a busy beach and alligators in unexpected places.
Before the official announcement of GTA 6, there were already many leaks, including details about the gameplay and the game map. GTA fans formed an idea of the map based on leaked information. One of the map images, created by DeviantArt user avatar-sd, has been widely praised for its accuracy, albeit with some creative changes.
After the release of the official trailer, fans started comparing it to the leaked map. They have already found similarities, such as a night view of the Vice City highway and a bridge over the waters of Leonidas, confirming the validity of the map leaks.
Will there be cheats in GTA 6?
Like many other things, it has not yet been confirmed whether cheats will appear in GTA 6. But based on the experience of previous games, we can assume that they will be implemented. First of all, we can expect codes for standard functions in the GTA world:
- Vehicle codes;
- Cheats for weapons;
- Ammo cheats;
- Armor Cheats;
- Wanted level codes.
There is hope in the GTA player community that in the new game, if there are two main characters, cheat codes can be applied to each of them separately. Many also hope for invulnerability to test their mettle against the police with a six-star wanted level.
Fans expect Rockstar to continue the tradition of entering cheats that started with GTA 4, when codes could be entered directly during the game. Grand Theft Auto does not view cheating as something negative, but as part of the unique and crazy gameplay that adds variety and fun:
- Codes are entered through the command console using the classic typing style;
- Codes are entered via your character’s in-game phone by entering a certain combination of numbers.
There’s still time until 2025, and the community is confident that Rockstar has enough surprises in store to reward fans for the long wait. This will likely include new cheat codes that will make the game even more interesting.
