Microsoft has announced that the Xbox is introducing a special warning program that players will receive for breaking certain rules. As a result, the user’s account may even be blocked for a whole year.
Now (at the time of the introduction of this system) all gamers have clean statistics of violations, even if they have previously received several warnings. However, if the player continues to comply with the rules, this can quickly lead to a ban.
Among the serious violations in the company, the following actions are distinguished:
- Using cheats – for this you can get one penalty point;
- Profanity – you can get one penalty point for this;
- Harassing other gamers – you can get two penalty points for this;
- Inciting hatred and enmity – you can get three penalty points for this.
The severity of the penalty depends on the number of penalty points. So, for example, if you get a maximum of two points, then the account will be blocked only for one day, and for four – for a week. If the number of penalty points reaches eight, the user will be banned for one year.
“Each strike (warning) is valid for six months. All players start from scratch. We are constantly improving security measures and implementing more systems and tools that allow players to interact with each other in a respectful manner, because everyone deserves a place where they can be themselves without harassment or bullying.”says the statement.
In the event that one of the warnings is received, the player will be informed exactly what the penalty point has been awarded for.
Last year, only 1% of gamers were temporarily banned and only a third of this number of players repeatedly broke the rules.
The new strike system came into effect on August 15.
