How to save Yurgir from the contract in Baldur’s Gate 3 – where to find the Justicar and the dark gem

The quest “Kill the ancient enemy Raphael” you must complete to get dark gem – a special ball that allows you to launch the elevator at the pedestal of reckoning in the “Challenge Ball” location.

The task becomes available when you arrive at the “Challenge Shar” location. First, Raphael will meet you in the camp, where he will offer to find the sworn enemy hiding in the depths of the grave. A little later, when you begin to examine the map, you will find traces of massacres and dead Justicars. Go to our marker on the map to find Yurgir.

In the dialogue with the monster, you can choose different options, but we do not recommend to anger him – if you are not strong enough, it will be quite difficult to defeat the enemy. We advise you to negotiate with him and take on the task of finding a right car, with which the battle will be much easier.

Now you have to go down the ruins or use the elevator to get to the central ruins. Please use our screenshots if you run into any issues.

On the right you will see a group of rats in a hole – jump down there and get ready for a fight. It is worth warning that rodents will appear with each new turn, so it is better to destroy them as soon as possible. Fortunately, rats only have 2 health units. You can use a pumped magic arrow – one shot for each monster.

Once all rodents are killed, the last Justicar will spawn. Fight him and take some items – a large shield and a justicar’s scimitar.

Now go back to Yurgir and talk to him. Watch an entertaining cutscene with Raphael, after which the monster allows you to take all his stuff. But there will be quite a few items, or rather, only a dark gem. It is he who will have to get to the other side using the pedestal of reckoning in the center of the location.
