IGN has published a new gameplay video of the upcoming soul-like action Lords of the fallen. The video is dedicated to the world of the dead (Umbral), in which the character can move in ordinary reality after death (the world of Axioms).

Moving between realities contributes to solving some puzzles. For example, with the help of a special lamp, the character sees in real time particles of the world of the dead, which, in turn, may contain hidden objects. You can find yourself not only in Umbral after death, but also in free mode (optional).
It is worth noting that if an enemy hits the hero while using the alien lantern, he will automatically move to Umbral. If the character dies in this reality, you must start from the last checkpoint.
In addition to this, the lamp is also used to drain enemies’ souls and inflict additional damage on them. However, the use of the lantern is limited.
Another feature of the world of the dead is that the longer the character is in it, the more he is tormented by various hallucinations. If delayed, they can eventually materialize and wreak havoc. There is also a positive side – in the world of Umbral, the hero can gain additional energy and find valuable loot. At some point (if you manage to hold out long enough in the world of the dead), the hero may encounter a special opponent.
Lords of the Fallen will release this year on October 13 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. More gameplay of the game can be seen here.
