Dead Space Remake

  • Platforms: PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

It’s the first part Dead Space, judging by the reviews of many players, has become the most atmospheric in the series. In 2023, a remake of the same name was released, which received not only improved graphics and sound, but also improved gameplay.

The main character is engineer Isaac Clarke, who was sent to the Ishimura spacecraft for repairs. However, upon arrival, the character immediately realizes that something terrible has happened to the complex. Almost all people have disappeared without a trace (including his lover), and traces of blood are visible all around. Gradually, the hero meets terrible monsters (necromorphs) who pursue him and try to kill him. To survive and find out the truth, Isaac will have to fight his way through a real hell, consisting of many corpses and dangerous situations.

Thanks to improved graphics, the Dead Space remake manages to perfectly immerse the player in the atmosphere of space horror, which does not weaken until the credits. You can learn more about this game in our review.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

  • Platforms: PC, PS5, PS4 and Xbox Series X/S
  • Multiplayer: no

And yet another remake of the enduring classic of the horror genre. Despite leaving for a more frank action, the fourth part Resident Evil 4 still contains notes of that same atmosphere of constant danger and the emergence of increasingly horrific mutated zombies. The new graphics have made the brutal scenes much more realistic, which certainly enhances the impression of encounters and fights with enemies.

The protagonist is Leon Scott Kennedy, who goes to a remote Spanish village in search of the kidnapped daughter of the President of the United States, Ashley Graham. There, the character encounters members of a mysterious cult affected by a new type of virus that turns humans into monsters.

Leon is waiting for a clash with different kinds of monsters, ranging from classic zombies to a huge mutated salamander and giants. Tense battles make even experienced players nervous, and competent puzzles remind you that the difficulty of passing depends not only on the ability to use weapons, but also on logical thinking. Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse (re-release)

  • Platforms: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch
  • Multiplayer: no

In 2023, Koei Tecmo decided to re-release their cult horror Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, previously a Nintendo Wii exclusive. This means that many players on modern platforms (including PC) will finally be able to try this project, which will certainly interest fans of Japanese folklore.

In Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar, Eclipse stars as various characters who explore gloomy locations with ghosts. The only weapon that can stop evil spirits is a special camera that destroys evil as soon as it appears on screen.

Sharpened graphics with support for high resolution and completely revamped controls make this project a relevant horror to this day. In addition, the re-release has extra costumes for the characters, which can distract a bit from the battles with the ghosts.
