The remake was released yesterday (March 24). Resident Evil 4, which received very positive reviews from gamers. Videos have surfaced on the network showing how much Capcom has pumped the graphics into the game compared to the 2005 original.
The first video compares different monsters and character models.

In the second video you can see the differences between the versions for PC (with maximum graphics settings), PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

These are the conclusions reached by the author of the comparison:
- The console versions have two graphics modes: with an emphasis on high resolution and frame rate;
- Xbox Series X offers a higher average resolution in both modes compared to PS5;
- The Xbox Series S has a lower level of detail in both geometry and animations. This is especially noticeable when you look into the details of the environment;
- With PS5 and Xbox Series X you can enable ray tracing for reflections and improve some refractions. This feature stands out in the Lake District. The author recommends turning it off to get some more FPS;
- Xbox Series X reflects SSR better than PS5;
- Xbox Series S has no option to enable or disable ray tracing;
- On PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, upgraded hair can be enabled for Leon and other characters or animals. This setting causes some glitches in dark areas on consoles, but not on PC;
- Xbox Series S has some texture issues when changing the display mode. Closing the game usually resolves this issue temporarily;
- None of the console versions can show a stable 60 FPS. The most critical moments are at dusk in the rain. PS5 outperforms Xbox Series X/S in all cases;
- Chromatic aberrations and distortion are best turned off in all versions;
- The ability to lock the frame rate at 30 FPS would come in handy for those who don’t have a VRR-compatible display.

On PC, the author launched the game with the following hardware: RTX 4080, Core-i9 12900K and 32 GB DDR5 RAM.
In the third video, the author showed how graphics differ with and without ray tracing enabled.

Recall that Resident Evil 4 has already broken the franchise record on Steam in terms of the number of online players.
