An excerpt from the trailer for the Disney remake of The Little Mermaid, which will be officially shown at the Oscars ceremony, has been leaked to the network.
The leaked clip showed the villain Ursula, a half-woman, half-octopus played by Melissa McCarthy.
A photo of the toy has also surfaced online showing six other little mermaids from the upcoming movie.
The Little Mermaid remake is directed by Rob Marshall, who worked on Mary Poppins Returns, Into the Woods and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The main character of the film was played by 22-year-old black actress Halle Bailey. The premiere will take place on May 26, 2023.
