Valve recently summarized the results of voting for the best games in The Steam Awards 2022, in which Cyberpunk 2077 won the Favorite Child category. As it turned out, not all gamers agreed with this conclusion, as a result of which a new portion of criticism of the project erupted.
For example, after the results of the vote were announced, the number of negative reviews almost tripled. In it, players mainly complain that the game does not deserve the Favorite Child award, arguing that the project won in this category only thanks to the hype surrounding the anime series Cyberpunk: Edge Runners (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners).
“If it weren’t for Edgerunners, this game would have faded into obscurity and be remembered as an example of why you should never pre-order a digital game.”– Merlin.
“The only reason people think the game is good right now is because of the Edgerunners anime. Do not let them get to you”– Churchill.
“Edgerunners is the most successful gaslighting campaign in history”Austin.

However, not all gamers agree with the criticism of Cyberpunk 2077. The number of positive reviews about the project still exceeds the negative ones in recent days. At the time of writing, the game’s overall rating is 79%.

Recall that there is currently a full-fledged DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 in development called Phantom Freedom. The release will take place this year. In addition, a character played by actor Idris Elba appears. A free clone of Among Us about geese broke into the top of Steam
