Digital Foundry experts released a video summarizing the 2022 results and answering questions from the audience. At one point, talk turned to an updated version of the Nintendo Switch, which was expected to be seen this year.
According to John Linneman, who he heard from the developers, Nintendo was indeed working on a more powerful version of the console. However, then the company dropped the idea – it was rumored that it was due to a shortage of components.
Now the Japanese are working on a completely new next-generation device. Digital Foundry advises not to wait until 2024 with the console. Linneman believes that Nintendo does not want to repeat the failure of the GameCube and Wii U, and will therefore spend more time on development.
