Background: Gamescom 2022 opening ceremony showcases Dune: Awakening, an Open World Survival MMOAs part of TGA 2022, the first trailer for an open world MMO survival game was shown Dune: awakening. The game is developed by Funcom.
The action takes place on the sand planet Arrakis and the plot is based on both the original books by Frank Herbert and the film adaptation by Denis Villeneuve. It will be a third-person project where you have to survive, fight, carry out political intrigues and increase your influence.
The game will be released in 2023 on PC, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. It is not yet clear whether there will be crossplay between platforms.
