As part of the AP-PRO Showcase 2022 presentation, a trailer was shown for the Metro 2033: Legacy story adaptation, which will be similar in size to the new game. This is the first mod for a shooter in which an open world will appear.

Initially, the mod was made on the engine of the original Metro 2033, but in early 2022 the authors decided to transfer their project to the Redux version engine.
For a long time, the project was developed on a rather outdated version of the original game’s engine from 2010. But in early 2022, the project began to move to the Redux version of the game. We had to postpone all development progress, which was the reason for such a long absence of any information about the project.
Technically, the modification is 60% ready. The authors have fully completed work on three of the seven story chapters, created two different endings, which depend on the choice of the player at a key moment in the story, implemented a day and night cycle, and also created a unique menu. In addition, modders have added side quests, new weapons and characters from the book universe.
The Metro 2033: Legacy mod doesn’t even have a release date yet.
Previously, a working build of the canceled STALKER: Online, which GSC Game World was working on in 2010, was leaked to the network. Thanks to a fan patch, the game can run in a browser on your PC. And the author of the Stalker remaster called Shadow Of Chernobyl Update has published a video and many screenshots.
