The network has leaked new information about the release date of the next generation console PlayStation6 from Sony.
Journalists studied the document, which was published as part of the ongoing in-depth review of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard developer studio. The document has been published by the UK Competition and Markets Authority. It turned out to refer to the release date of the PlayStation 6. Sony claims it expects the Call of Duty franchise to leave PlayStation consoles in 2027. At the same time, it is noted that by then – in 2027 – Sony plans to release a new next-generation console, which logically should be PS6.
Based on new data found in a published document about a deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard, it is noted that 2027 could be the year the next generation of consoles are released. Should this really happen, it turns out that the current generation of consoles – PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X – will last at least 7 years, since these consoles came out in 2020. It is also worth noting that the PS4 console, released in 2013, also lasted 7 years before being replaced by a new generation. It is possible that the lifecycle of PS5 before the release of PS6 will be the same 7 years.
Information recently appeared on the network, which reported that a new PlayStation 5 console, PS5 Slim, could be released in the third quarter of 2023.
