The EU recognized the enormous cultural and economic impact of video games

MEPs call for a strategy to support video games in the EU to improve the situation in European markets. This is stated in the resolution passed by MEPs last Thursday. 560 people voted in favour, 34 against and 16 abstained.

The EU recognized the enormous cultural and economic impact of video games

To do this, it is proposed to expand funding for this area in order to retain talented developers and create more games. The fact is that the European video game market is heavily dependent on imports and there are almost no own projects. In addition, the deputies state that the current funding programs and their criteria are not always suitable for small game studios and indie developers, so they are asking for an exception.

Finally, MEPs said that video games should be considered part of Europe’s cultural heritage, as well as support for the preservation of “the most culturally important European video games”. This will allow you to play them in the future.

But in Russia they are talking about the possibility of banning some top games. A new erotic figure of Rebecca from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is shown
