As we learned yesterday God of War: Ragnarok turned out to be an extremely high-quality sequel, earning 94 points on Metacritic. The press has been delighted with the graphics, updated combat system and story. Even side quests got it: according to Gene Park of The Washington Post, they’re even better here than in the reference The Witcher 3.
In a review of God of War: Ragnarok, Park wrote that it was the first game in his memory to break the CD Projekt RED bar. Later he separate told about it on Twitter.
God of War Ragnarok has finally dethroned The Witcher 3 with the best side quests I’ve seen in an adventure game. The coolest battles, the most heartfelt stories, and the most grandiose locations are in side missions. Don’t skip them.

News reaches to designer Anthony DiMento, who was in charge of the side missions. The developer was very flattered by this comparison, as he is a big fan of the Wild Hunt.
This was my goal when creating optional content in God of War: Ragnarok. The third Witcher is one of my all-time favorite games… It seemed impossible, but that’s our goal. It was great to read this.
God of War: Ragnarok is out November 9 for PS4 and PS5. Apparently it did, because the game didn’t even make the top 100 of the Steam world top.
