Televisión Española is widening its hosting team for the upcoming season. Lourdes Maldonado has signed on with the public network, a move confirmed by industry sources and reported by YOTELE. Maldonado will join forces with Marc Calderó to spearhead a new current affairs and entertainment magazine. The show is planned to air on La 1 in the morning block, Monday through Friday, bringing a refreshed lineup to morning television. The project, a collaboration between RTVE and the production company Cuatro (Cuarzo), progressed through its development phase and reached a more concrete plan over the past weekend.

In practical terms, RTVE will supply both technical resources and personnel, with parts of the newsroom and reporting staff expected to come from within the network itself. The Banijay Group, a longtime producer partner, will contribute its broad experience in this format, ensuring the program benefits from a seasoned production backbone and a robust on-air structure.

Related news indicates that the new show, whose final title had not been announced at the time of reporting, will likely run for about three hours. It was noted that the daily schedule could place its first broadcast around 11:30 a.m. or 12:00 p.m., depending on the final format. Meanwhile, La 1 will carry the existing program slot for La hora de La 1, with its familiar presenters Marc Sala and Silvia Intxaurrondo continuing in their roles.

Lourdes Maldonado is recognized as one of the most influential faces on Spanish television. Up until the previous season, she led and hosted Telemadrid’s desk news program with notable success. Her career spans more than two decades, including a long association with Antena 3 Noticias where she held roles presenting the first edition and the weekend edition at different times. Maldonado’s experience in high-pressure newsroom environments is expected to bring both editorial depth and on-camera poise to the new morning program.
