A passionate developer, Red-Prig, has introduced a new open source PlayStation 4 emulator named fpPS4 for PC, with a video demonstrating several games running on the software.

From the footage, the emulator appears capable of running titles such as Sonic Mania and We are doomed. Testing hardware included an Intel Core i5 7400, a NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti, and 8 GB of RAM.

fpPS4 joins a growing field of PS4 emulators. Other similar projects include Kyty, Spine, and GPCS4.

fpPS4 requires a 64-bit operating system, an x64 processor with AVX2 support, and a GPU that supports the Vulkan API. The emulator is available for download here.
