Goya Awards 2023: Seville Hosts Spain’s Premier Cinema Gala

The 2023 Goya Awards ceremony stands as Spain’s premier annual celebration of cinema, held on February 11 at the Andalusian Auditorium in Seville. While the film industry remains the centerpiece, the evening is brightened by performances that punctuate the event with color and energy.

In its 37th edition, the Goyas will be hosted by Antonio de la Torre and Clara Lago. A Malaga native and a Madrid resident will guide the gala, which officially begins at 10 pm on February 11. The red carpet unfolds after 7 pm, offering a first glimpse of the night’s mood and style. The ceremony will be broadcast as usual open at 1 RTVE, and the star-driven spectacle can be streamed on rtve.es, where viewers can catch the premiere online as well.

The performances will shape the pacing between award moments. The organizers have not announced the exact lineup of artists who will appear on the Seville stage, but they have confirmed that several guests will come from Mexico. Natalia Lafourcade, flamenco singer Israel Fernández, and Malaga’s own Paul López are among those expected to contribute.

Gestmusic will oversee the production, a leading force in Spanish television content. The company, part of the Banijay Iberia group, is behind popular formats such as Operación Triunfo, Look Who’s Dancing, and Your Face Looks Familiar. Tinet Rubira and Ángel Custodio, who helm the Goya show production, are responsible for shaping the gala’s overall presentation.
