He believes the solution does not lie solely in politics. Humans must act to save the planet. The approach is not to foment street revolutions but to inform citizens, enable voting, and pressure politicians to take meaningful action. Leaders are not truly guiding if their actions are driven by narrow interests. Change is hard; people cling to familiar routines, from energy use to diet. Information and a healthy kind of indignation are essential to drive real progress.
Avatar advocates environmental protection while also exploring war and adventure. How does the director balance beauty with danger?
During the editing of The Sense of Water, Cameron confronted a moment of doubt, reflecting on the film’s violence. He ultimately chose to remove ten minutes of intense combat sequences. Though he is often associated with action cinema, the present concerns about guns in society weighed on him. Looking back at his body of work, he sometimes questions whether he would glamourize weapons the way he did in earlier projects.
