Every second spent the Russian summer vacation at home. This is demonstrated by a study on hh.ru, the largest online recruitment platform in Russia, acquired by socialbites.ca.
The research service of hh.ru, Russia’s largest online recruitment platform, has learned how Russians are spending their holidays this year and whether they have to deal with depression before or after the holidays. The survey was conducted among 1,775 Russian employees and job seekers from 15 August to 2 September 2022.
Half of the rested respondents (50%) spent their holidays at home this year, 15% visited the south of Russia, 13% rested in their cottage, 8% said Moscow and St. Petersburg, reported that 6% were in Siberia. 4% – in the Caucasus, 3% – in the Urals, 1% – in the Far East.
Only 9% of respondents admitted to experiencing pre-holiday depression. Much more Russians (21%) were in a depressed state after rest. On the eve of the holiday, marketers (14%), IT professionals (11%), and accountants (10%) were most likely in a negative mood. On the contrary, when they returned to work, as a rule, HR professionals (30%), lawyers (29%), administrative staff and transport workers (27%) were homesick.
Of those who experience holiday depression, 23% say it happens all the time, and 22% say it happens occasionally. Another 18% started suffering from mood swings in the last two years alone, 14% – this year – before or after the holidays.
