Animal protection organization PETA has asked the International Olympic Committee to help fight for the ethical treatment of animals during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This has been reported www.

In a letter to IOC President Thomas Bach, PETA Vice President Mimi Bekechi urged the committee to “accept from LVMH or any other fashion-related company only if it agrees to stop selling exotic animal fur or leather products.”

Bekeci said that the COVID-19 epidemic contributed to fur farms. According to him, cramped conditions “encouraged the spread [вируса] contributed to the emergence of “dangerous mutations that threaten the efficacy of vaccines” and among both humans and wild animals.

He added that the fashion house management is “well aware that farm animals tolerate conditions comparable to those in Wuhan markets where the spread of COVID-19 is believed to have begun.”

In his letter, the PETA vice president noted that LVMH “has not yet shown responsibility and continues to put public health at risk by selling mink coats and python bags.”

It is not yet clear whether LVMH will sponsor the Paris Olympics. In 2016, the French Olympic Committee applied to the holding with a request for support, but no agreement was reported.
