A draft law has been submitted to Russia’s State Duma banning the issue of rental certificates to cinemas for films that promote non-traditional sexual relations and deny family values.
The explanation states that the media, films and other sources of information set such deviant behavior as the norm. The new initiative should stop such propaganda.
It should be noted that while this is only a draft law, in order to become mandatory, it must be passed by deputies of the State Duma and signed by the President.
At the same time, the State Duma Commission on Information Policy has already proposed to extend the ban on propaganda of non-traditional relations in Russia. If it is only banned for children now, the ban could also apply to other age groups in the future.
