Blogger Hoffmann sentenced to two years in prison for burning his passport

Blogger known by the pseudonym Evgenia Hoffman was sentenced to two years in prison for burning her passport. This was reported by press service Courts of general jurisdiction of the Bryansk region.

On July 19, 2024, the Sovetsky District Court of the city of Bryansk convicted 22-year-old Hoffmann of committing the crime. Based on the totality of the crimes, the court sentenced the perpetrator to 2 years and 3 months of detention.

At the court hearing, the blogger admitted his guilt.

On January 1, Evgenia Hoffman burned her Russian passport on camera. According to the channel, Hoffman was drunk at the time. The incident occurred near the clubhouse in Bryansk. As the blogger herself later explained, she burned her old and invalid passport, which had long been replaced with a new one. It is also noticeable in the video that the document was issued in 2021.

After the video was released, Hoffman was accused of allegedly doing so in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, although he denied it. According to him, he was drunk and burned the document “for fun” and “those who write offensive comments for any reason are still not in the SVO.”
