The British BBC is saddened to lose a familiar face from its programmes. Journalist Scottish public broadcaster presenter Nick Sheridan dies aged 32 after a short illness.

“He was a wonderful colleague to those of us who worked with him.”Gary Smith, head of BBC Scotland, said: “Nick was a hugely talented journalist, presenter and writer and one of those rare individuals who brightened the lives of everyone around him. Funny, smart, kind. “He’s a fascinating man,” she added.

It wasn’t long before tributes surrounded his figure. Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf remembered Nick Sheridan at the start of the weekly question session in Parliament. The political leader spoke of him as follows: “an extremely talented journalist and writer”.

“Many of us in this room were interviewed (quite hard, no doubt) by Nick, either on BBC Drivetime or on many of the other programs he presented,” Yousaf said in his loving message to the deceased.

Since joining the utility in 2018, Sheridan’‘Reporting Scotland’, ‘Drivetime’, ‘Nine’ and ‘Seven Days’. He was actually part of ‘Good Morning Scotland’ a few weeks ago.
